Pudding Competition Winner Announced

19th July 2024

Back in April we launched a Knitted Pudding Competition in our Spring/Summer issue of Bransby Life, appealing to knitters and crocheters across our supporter base to help us raise funds for our beloved charity.

Pudding, the fictional Shetland pony, was created by our team to represent the many equines rescued by Bransby Horses every year. Our two Pudding-themed storybooks were produced to reflect the journey and experiences that so many of the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules that arrive here, go through before arriving here. You can get to know Pudding and our wonderful charity through her educational storybooks, activities and teaching resources available on this page.

The winner was chosen among over fifty entries. The unanimous decision came after much deliberation in which serious consideration was given to the judging criteria of:

  • Creativity
  • Craftmanship
  • How well the entry embodies the spirit of Pudding and her friends
  • Incorporating inspiration from the Pudding books.

The judges were bowled over by the array of creative flair and imagination used to produce the entries. The difficulty in the judges’ decision will surely mean that all the entries will go a long way towards raising money for our rescued equines.

There were many excellent entries of all shapes, sizes and species (real and imaginary), all of whom would have made worthy winners.

We are delighted to announce the winner of our first ever Knitted Pudding Competition is Mrs. Jenny Morris.

Mrs. Jenny Morris’s colourful floral entry was chosen because it embodied all of the requested criteria.

All knitted Pudding entries will be available in our on-site shop soon with all proceeds going directly to support our work, making meaningful differences to the lives of vulnerable horses who need our help.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our supporters who submitted entries – you really blew us away.

Want to get involved? We’d be happy to take your crafty creations to fundraise for equines in need. Our patterns are still available here, and once complete, please send to:
