Grange Farm is a newly acquired site (at Barlings, Langworth) which requires maintaining and developing. We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic about getting hands on within the 800 acres over at Grange Farm, Barlings. This role is definitely for someone who has a passion for the great outdoors and nature. The main purpose is assisting with the maintenance, management and care of everything involved in this spectacular environment. As this volunteering opportunity is away from our main site in Bransby Village, it does require an individual who has the ability to travel to Barlings, Langworth.

Working Hours: We are looking for reliable volunteers who can preferably commit to one day a week. Days can be flexible.

Annual Salary / Pay Per hour: N/A

Main Purpose of the Job:

This exciting, new venture is perfect for an individual who is passionate about the environment and nature, it will develop year on year with ongoing plans to develop the Grange Farm site. This is a very physical role so will require someone who loves outdoor life, is physically fit and doesn’t mind a bit of wind, rain & mud! The role will involve every area of environmental conservation; you will get the chance to be involved with:

·         Tree pruning/thinning

·         Tree planting

·         Other tasks involved in tree management

·         Various tasks involved in fence erection and repairs

·         Grass Cutting/Strimming

·         Bramble Bashing

·         Basic DIY Tasks such as making tree guards, putting up bird boxes etc.

·         Monitoring and tracking wildlife (Pen & Paper Provided!)

And also, various other outdoor maintenance work.
