Would you like to work for a professional, progressive, and compassionate equine welfare charity with no out of hours duties?
Summary of the role
We are actively seeking an experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon to provide professional and compassionate first opinion clinical care to our rescued and rehabilitated horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules, across our two Lincolnshire sites. The successful applicant will work with our small, friendly team based at our Bransby Horses main site just outside of Lincoln, supported by a Practice Manager, Veterinary Surgeon and Registered Veterinary Nurse.
Your varied caseload will include the provision of routine healthcare, medical and orthopaedic work ups, plus emergency and welfare work. We have a focus on equine behaviour as well as clinical care. You will have access to a range of modern equipment to enable you to carry out your clinical work including treatment rooms with stocks, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and video endoscopy. We also have an in-house laboratory.

The ideal candidate
We would most like to hear from vet surgeons with at least three years of clinical experience working within a busy equine practice or organisation. However, we would consider less experience for the right candidate. An understanding of equine welfare policies, knowledge of health and safety practices and biosecurity measures would be advantageous but not is not essential.
You should have a strong clinical skill set, the ability to plan and adapt, as well the confidence to make decisions, provide advice and work collaboratively across the charity. You must be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and have a full UK driving license. In return we will offer a supportive and progressive working environment with an emphasis on a healthy work life balance.
For the full details about the role and essential requirements, please see the job description and reference how you meet the criteria in your application. For further enquiries, please contact Practice Manager, Rachel Bell on 07399 662044 or at rachel.bell@bransbyhorses.co.uk
Employee benefits
We have excellent onsite facilities, a beautiful countryside setting and in addition to the vet team you will be working alongside a caring and inclusive community of employees. You will also have access to an attractive health and wellbeing package, extra annual leave options (including Birthday Leave) and a dedicated Employee Assistance Programme. We offer a competitive salary, dependant on experience, plus professional subscriptions paid and a generous CPD budget. Flexibility regarding working days and hours and part time hours would be considered.
