Say hello to Hugo!

Hugo is a 9 year old, 12hh, piebald, gob gelding who is looking for a home as a non-ridden companion.

Hugo is a very sweet and loving boy who adores human interaction. He regularly falls asleep while receiving a good groom and is always first over to say hello in the field. He is happy to be stabled with no others in sight for short periods so could be a fantastic companion to a ridden equine. Hugo is good to do in all ways however needs continued work on having his legs clipped. He is improving each time this is done but is currently sedated for this.

Hugo is looking for a perfect partner who will give him plenty of love and affection, with ample opportunity to interact with humans as this is something he genuinely enjoys. He would benefit from having a perfect partner who has experience with or is happy to learn about and manage his PSSM appropriately.

Hugo lives out 24/7 with access to a shelter and will happily stable when needed. He would benefit from being able to live out 24/7 in his new home due to having PSSM.

Rugs: Not Needed

Hugo lives in a herd of geldings at present.

Hugo currently receives a 200g fiber feed with his supplements in. His supplements consist of Vitamin E and an all-in-one balancer. He needs to live on poor grazing and has been housed on one of our track systems which has proven to work well for him.

Farrier: Hugo is shod in front and is good for the farrier.

Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.

Vet: Hugo is PSSM1 positive, however has had no flare-ups of this since being with us. He will need appropriate management for this in a home. He has historically had ulcers which have been treated and resolved.
He has a history of forelimb lameness which has been resolved with being shod in front. He also has the typical cob trait of Sallanders & Mallanders which will need appropriate management.
