Say hello to Thai!
Thai is an 11.3hh, 16 year old, skewbald, Welsh mare, who is ready to find a home as a non-ridden pony.
Thai is a very special lady. She is very much a one person pony who chooses her trusted humans. Thai will be the one to tell us when she finds her Perfect Partner. She will require three visits to ensure the right match for her.
Once Thai chooses her person, she is extremely rewarding to work with. She has been trained using natural horsemanship techniques which work well for her, her Perfect Partner would be someone experienced in these techniques. Thai would prefer a quiet home with a consistent routine, so that she knows what to expect day-to-day.
Although she may take a little longer to build a trusted bond with her handler, once she does, she is soft as butter. Thai turns into a different pony when she is comfortable with her handler and in her routine. She is sweet, loving and extremely eager to please. Thai can be tricky to catch for unfamiliar people, but with her trusted handler, she will come trotting at full speed to the gate when she sees you in the morning, she gets so excited to see her two-legged best friend. Thai loves a good pamper session and going on in-hand walks to explore the farm. Keeping her brain active with training sessions and walks is essential to her overall wellbeing.
Thai has been at Bransby Horses for quite some time, and has come such a long way since being with us. It is imperative that Thai goes to the right home, where she can feel safe and confident with her handler and in her environment. She will ensure to tell us when she finds her Perfect Partner.
Thai currently lives out 24/7 with access to shelter. She enjoys coming into the stable and will happily stable alone or with friends in sight.
Rugs: Not Needed
Thai currently lives in a mixed herd and sits at the bottom of the hierarchy.
Forage/Feed: Thai does not currently receive a hard feed. She is supplemented with a hay/straw mix when grazing becomes sparse.
Medication: N/A
Farrier: Thai is barefoot and trimmed on a 6 week cycle. Due to being unsure of new people, she would benefit from a consistent, understanding and patient farrier.
Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vices: Thai can be tricky to catch with unfamiliar people. She will require patience with this when she is getting to know her new handler. Although she can be unsure and nervous, she is never nasty or rude in anything she does.
Vet: Thai would benefit from a very kind, patient vet who will use a slow, calm approach.
