Say hello to Sparkle!

Sparkle is a 12.2hh, 16 year old, bay mare mule.

Sparkle by name, sparkle by nature- this sweet mule steals the hearts of everyone who is lucky enough to meet her. She is always seeking out attention from humans and loves spending time with people. Having spent the majority of her life unhandled, she has blossomed into the confident, kind lady that she is today. Sparkle’s favourite activity is going out for walks in-hand. She is loved by everyone who meets her on her adventures, always greeting everyone with pricked ears and a soft “hello” wicker, with the aim of making as many two-legged friends as possible.

Sparkle is looking for a Perfect Partner who can continue to show her what she was missing out on in life, someone who will take her on walks and adventures to keep her mind and body active. Sparkle loves a groom, and would love a home with plenty of time to groom and love her for as long as possible! Sometimes, her excitement can get the better of her and she can occasionally forget her manners, these boundaries will need to be implemented in a kind and compassionate way. This is never meant with malice, and is not an issue once she has a quick reminder.

Sparkle would love to live with other friendly equines who will stand and groom with her. She is incredibly friendly with other equines and makes friends with everyone. Unfortunately, sometimes Sparkle is too friendly and does not stick up for herself with dominant equines, meaning she can easily be bullied and chased off from the herd. As she is such a social girl, this really has an affect on her. She would love to live with other friendly, passive equines like herself.

Sparkle currently lives out 24/7 with access to shelter, but will happily stable with friends in sight.

Rugs: Not Needed

In the herd, Sparkle is a quiet, friendly girl who tries to make friends with everyone. She will happily get along with mares and geldings, however, due to her passive nature, she can unfortunately be bullied by more dominant equines.

Sparkle gets stressed when she is left alone, so must always have friends in sight.

Forage/Feed: In order to appropriately manage her weight, Sparkle must remain on restricted grazing. When needed, Sparkle receives low calorie hay/straw mix. She currently receives an All-in-One supplement daily.

Medication: N/A

Farrier: Sparkle is barefoot and trimmed on a 6 week cycle, she is a good girl for the farrier.

Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.

Vices: Sparkle can become a bit “in your face” if boundaries are not implemented. She can also be a bit enthusiastic when taking treats from the hand, and occasionally catches a finger by mistake!

Vet: Sparkle is developing a mild cataract in her right eye. This does not currently cause her any issues but will require regular monitoring.

Medication: N/A
