Say hello to Mick!

Mick is ready to find a home as a non-ridden companion horse.

Mick is an extremely affectionate and loving boy who adores spending time with his humans. He is the type of pony to supervise you while poo picking, ensuring that you do not forget he is there and ready for a fuss! He is a more quiet boy, but soon comes out of his shell once he knows his hander and has that trust built up. Mick came to Bransby Horses as an unhandled, feral pony. He has come on leaps and bounds from the scared young pony he once was. Once Mick gets to know you, he will offer you a “kiss” that you simply cannot refuse!

Mick loves exploring new places in-hand, and keeping his brain and body active through pole work. This also assists him in strengthening his back end as he grows. Mick has been assessed by our physiotherapist who suggested continuing with in-hand walks and pole exercises.

Mick is looking for a perfect partner who can help him continue to build his confidence, and be patient and reassuring if he becomes worried. He is looking for someone to explore with and get involved with fun pole work and groundwork activities.

Stabling/Shelter: Mick currently lives out 24/7 with access to shelter. He will happily stable with or without other equines in sight

Rugs: Not Needed

Mick has only lived with geldings while at Bransby, however, he has been next to mares and had no issue with this. He currently lives in a larger herd, but will equally be happy as part of a pair or smaller herd

Forage/Feed: No hard feed given and restricted grazing to appropriately manage his weight. When grazing becomes too sparse he is supplemented with low calorie hay.

Medication: N/A

Farrier: Mick is barefoot and trimmed on a regular 6 week cycle. He is a very good boy for the farrier but may require some reassurance with this as he settles in

Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.

Vices: N/A

Vet: Mick is a good boy for the vet. He has been assessed by our physiotherapist, who has found he is slightly weak behind. Therefore, he may require physio sessions in the future. He is currently receiving in hand walks and light pole work sessions to increase his strength and is coping with this well
