Say hello to Madoc
Madoc is a 13hh, 14 year old, piebald, cob gelding who is looking for a home as a ridden pony. Madoc has a maximum rider weight limit of 11stone / 70kg.
*Madoc is not located at our Bransby Horses site*
Madoc is a sweet boy who enjoys his work, especially jumping. He can try to push boundaries on the ground so would benefit from a confident handler who is used to strong ponies. He travels well on both a lorry and a trailer with a hay net to keep him happy. He is good for the farrier and is good to clip his body but may need sedation for his legs. He is a good boy to bath and loves having a bath and a groom to make him feel like a new man!
Madoc is looking a perfect partner who will continue to take him out and about to see the world, taking on pony club events and enjoying his fantastic company; showering him with love. He is generally good to do in all ways, but has been known to eat a tape worm saliva swab (it has to be a snack if it’s in his mouth, right?) so you need to have your wits about you for this!
Madoc is a good all-rounder and enjoys most riding activities and although may feel a little steady when schooling. In contrast, he can have a good turn of speed when he jumps. He has been to local shows behaving well. Madoc is very worried about hacking out alone, and as such we are looking for a home where he will only be asked to go out in company. Madoc would thrive in a varied life with the opportunity to get out to shows and pony club to show off his jumping skills!
Madoc will happily live out 24/7 with access to a shelter or will stable with friends in sight.
Madoc enjoys the company of his equine friends and will need to always have others in sight.
Madoc receives a handful of chaff if others around him are being fed, but no hard feed is needed and he needs his weight managing appropriately.
Farrier: Barefoot and trimmed 6-8 weekly. He is good for the farrier.
Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vices: Madoc can not hack out alone as this is something he is very worried about.
Vet: Madoc has no ongoing medical concerns.
Medication: N/A
