Say hello to June!
June is a 13hh, 5 year old, piebald cob mare, who is ready to find a home as a non-ridden companion.
June is a very loving young lady who displays a high level of maturity for her age. She is always the first to meet you in the field and will follow you around for cuddles and would like her new fosterer to give her lots of fuss and attention.
She is a lovely mare and loves a good scratch! June is so sweet and always try’s her best with anything you do with her. Junes perfect match would be someone who will continue with her management of PSSM and enjoy an in hand walk with her.
Stabling/Shelter: June lives out 24/7 with access to a shelter in a herd of mares but will happily stable with friends in sight when needed.
Companionship: June currently lives in a herd of mares and is always very welcoming to new members of the herd and enjoys other horses around her. June has always lived with others and has not been on her own in the field.
Forage/Feed: June is on restricted grazing with low-calorie hay, she receives an All-in-One supplement to ensure she receives all the vitamins and minerals she needs while on a restricted diet.
Medication: N/A
Farrier: June is barefoot and trimmed every 6-8weeks, she would like her legs to be held low due to her PSSM. She is good for for farrier but can need a minute to think about what is happening and the farrier to say hello to her first for her to settle.
Dentist: Sedated as per standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vices: N/A
Vet: June is good for the vet and needles, she has PSSM 1, however June has not shown any clinical signs of the condition to date but managing her in this way such as in hand walks, as much turnout as possible. June has had a worm burden in the past so management of this will need to continue with FWEC and poo picking daily.
