Tessa is a 13hh, 5 year old, piebald cob mare, who is ready to find a home as a non-ridden companion.
Tessa is looking for the perfect match to foster her and understand due to her age she is still learning, she is very enthusiastic about new and exciting things!
Tessa would like her new fosterer to give her lots of fuss and attention, someone who will groom her and interact with her. Tessa would benefit from having a little more of a routine to help her gain familiarity with her new surroundings.
Tessa would benefit from her new home to have restricted grazing, alongside managing her PSSM with either hand walks or preparing for long lining. Tessa would like her new fosterer to be someone who will carry on her education.
Tessa is a sweet mare with a lovely nature who’s always happy to have a good scratch, especially on her chest and neck!
Stabling/Shelter: Tessa lives in a all mare herd, 24/7 with access to a shelter, she would need her grazing carefully managed due to her PSSM. Tessa has never lived with geldings. Tessa cannot be left alone in the field she would like to always have a friend with her.
Tessa stables well with a friend in sight, however she can’t be stabled for long periods of time due to her PSSM.
Companionship: Tessa would suit a mare as a companion, one who is calm and placid, and would like to live with a mare who has similar restricted grazing needs.
Forage/Feed: Tessa lives out 24/7 and has hay when needed, she is not on any hard feet but does have 2 scoops of Vitamin E once a day.
Medication: N/A
Farrier: Tessa is barefoot and trimmed every 6weeks, she is a good girl for the farrier but would request that the farrier holds her feet low due to her PSSM.
Dentist: Sedated as per standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vices: N/A
Vet: Tessa has PSSM 1 and will need appropriate management for this. Tessa is good for the vet and needles. Tessa has mallanders.
