Introducing Lolly and Sophie
Lolly has been with Sophie and family since September 2017. Sophie would like to share her personal experience of being a Bransby Family Fosterer and what it’s like to have Lolly as a member of her family.
“Bransby Lolly is a regular poster on the Bransby Family Fosterer’s Facebook page because she is so cheeky and pulls the funniest faces!
Lolly was found in a field in Wales and was recused by Bransby Horses. After I moved to a farm in 2016, I’d finally realised my dream, having my horses at home. Lolly was going to be a companion to my 17hh Warmblood mare and my husband’s Polo pony. Sadly I lost my Warmblood a few months later, Lolly had arrived just in time and the polo pony was not left on her own. The two are firm friends even though they like to pretend to be enemies by pulling faces at each other, Typical mares…
Lolly enjoys lots of in-hand walks around our farm and fields, and last year we began the backing process. One day she might be a lead rein pony, but for now, we keep her fit with lots of walks, pole work and lunging.
When I first met Lolly she was grey with a dark mane and tail, then she changed to dapple grey, and now she is almost white all over, I just love how her colour has evolved.
I have always wanted a Welsh A, ever since I was a child. Lolly hasn’t been easy and we have had issues with leading and handling but she makes up for it by just being so beautiful and funny. All my dreams have come true!”
