Mare

Say hello to Lagertha!

Lagertha is a 6 year old, 12hh, piebald, cob, mare who is ready to find her home as a non-ridden companion.

Lagertha is looking for a new home where she can have time to settle into her new routine, she would benefit from someone who is patient and will understand her personality as she can be a little wary of being groomed across her body and benefits from a quiet, gentle approach.

Lagertha would benefit from having a field safe headcollar on in her new home for the first couple of weeks as she can be a little tricky to catch at times.

She would benefit from having a consistent routine and one on one attention.

Lagertha is a bold and inquisitive mare who likes to get involved in what you are doing around her.

She enjoys companionship and would benefit from living with another who enjoys to play in the field.

Stabling/Shelter: Lagertha currently lives out 24/7 with access to a field shelter, she will happily stable and will stay in the field on her own happily with others in sight.

Companionship: Currently living within a mixed herd and is happy and settled, she enjoys being around others and is a playful mare.

Forage/Feed: Lagertha requires restricted grazing and is currently living out 24/7 on restricted grazing and has a hay/straw mix of forage when grazing becomes too sparse. Lagertha has previously lived on a track system in the summer months.

Farrier: Barefoot and trimmed every 6 weeks, good for the farrier.

Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure. Dental 6monthly due to young mouth.

Vet: Lagertha is a good girl for the vet, she can be needle shy at times.
Recently had sarcoid removed from armpit in January which has healed well. She has herd leader during the spring/summer months for itchy skin, along with a fly rug and a nose net. Lagertha has had laminitis in the past and requires weight management for this.
