Flossie is a 10 year old, 13hh, grey, cob, mare who is ready to find her home as a non-ridden companion.
Flossie is looking for someone who can create a bond and understand her, someone who is calm and has the time to give her one to one attention.
Flossie enjoys in hand walks and loves attention from her handler. Flossie has a lot of love to give and is looking for the right home where she can have time to settle in and get to know her new fosterer.
Flossie is a super sweet mare who is very kind and has a gentle nature, she can become unsure in some new situations and settles well with a confident and calming handler.
Flossie prefers you to lead her on her blind side and loves going on in hand walks to create a bond with you.
Stabling/Shelter: Flossie lives out 24/7 with access to a field shelter, she has previously been on a track system in the summer months for weight managment, she will happily stable as long as she has a friend next door as she can become fidgity on her own. Flossie sometimes needs a fly rug and mask in the summer months.
Companionship: Flossie has only every lived with mares and settles in well to most herds, she hasn’t lived with geldings but has lived next door to them and settled well. Flossie likes to always have a friend in sight as doesn’t like to be left on her own in the field.
Forage/Feed: Flossie currently lives out 24/7 on restricted grazing and is supplemented with a hay/straw mix when grazing becomes sparse to manage her weight. Flossie has herd leader over the summer months.
Medication: N/A
Farrier: Flossie is barefoot and trimmed every 6-8 weeks, she has a supplement of biotex mainly over summer when her feet can become dry.
Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vices: N/A
Vet: Flossie had her right eye removed 6years ago and would like an experienced fosterer who can understand this and be mindful when handling her. Flossie has had skin lesions previously, usually seasonal, this has been managed with creams and a fly mask, she has a full clip to help with this and hasn’t had any issues the last year.
