Say hello to Holmes!

Holmes is a 12.2hh, 10 year old, piebald cob gelding, who is ready to find a home as a non-ridden companion.

Holmes is looking for a perfect partner who will enjoy spending time with him, adore his cheeky personality and be willing to keep his active mind engaged.

Holmes would love to have a playful companion to live with. Holmes would like to be able to have time to settle into his new home and continue working on areas he can be unsure of such as handline his feet.

Holmes has PSSM 1 so would benefit from someone happy to manage this appropriately.

Holmes is an inquisitive boy who relishes the opportunity to learn something new! He is such an affectionate boy who always comes over for a scratch and fuss and is a pleasure to work with as something is always achieved by the end of a training session.

Stabling/Shelter: Holmes lives out 24/7 with access to a shelter. He will stable for short periods with a calm friend next door, he prefers a quieter setting as can become unsettled if too much is going on around him or if he has been stabled too long. For this reason, he would benefit from a home where he can live out 24/7, or have a perfect partner who is happy to continue this work with him.

Companionship: Holmes can live with both mares and geldings and is a playful boy within the herd.

Forage/Feed: Holmes currently has no hard feed and has restricted grazing to appropriately manage his weight. If grazing becomes too sparse, he is supplemented with a low-calorie hay/straw mix. He receives an All-in-One supplement daily to benefit his muscles due to his PSSM.

Medication: N/A

Farrier: Holmes is barefoot and trimmed 6-8 weekly. He can be worried by the farrier and having his hind feet handled. He would benefit from a regular routine of foot handling as well as a patient and understanding farrier.

Dentist: Sedated as per standard Bransby Horses procedure.

Vices: N/A

Vet: Holmes has a history of laminitis and has PSSM 1 so will need an appropriate low sugar/carbohydrate diet to appropriately manage these.

Medication: N/A
