Say hello to Hendricks!
Hendricks is a 8 year old, 13.1hh, black, Cob, Gelding who is ready to find his home as a non-ridden companion.
Hendricks is an affectionate boy who will come up to you every morning for a cuddle. He is a bit of a worrier, and can become nervous with new people and environments. He is becoming more confident each day. Although he enjoys a groom, he does not like his mane being touched. This is something the team is working on and he is making progress every time. Although he can be nervous, he really is the sweetest boy once he has trust and reassurance.
Hendricks would love an understanding home where he can continue to grow in confidence. Someone with a patient approach and will allow him to settle in his own time and implement a routine so that he knows what to expect day-to-day.
Hendricks is looking for somebody with lots of positive interaction who will help gain his confidence.
Hendricks currently lives out 24/7 with access to shelter. Equally, he will happily stable with friends in sight.
Hendricks must have company at all times as he gets stressed when on his own. He has only lived with geldings while at Bransby Horses, but does not seem affected by mares over the fence.
Forage/Feed: Hendricks is on restricted grazing in order to appropriately manage his weight. He receives a low calorie hay/straw mix when grazing becomes too sparse. He does not currently receive a hard feed.
Farrier: Hendricks is barefoot and is trimmed on a 6 week cycle. He benefits from regular hoof picking and leg handling to ensure he is not nervous for when it comes to farrier time.
Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vices: Hendricks is good to catch but with being a little nervous of new people and new places it would be advised to keep a head collar on for a few days until settled in a home.
Vet: Hendricks has been good for the vet during visits.
Medication: N/A
