Calypso

Say hello to Calypso!

Calypso is a 13.2hh, 6 year old, grey Welsh gelding, who is ready to find a home as a ridden pony.

Calypso is easy to do in all ways, he has impeccable manners and rarely puts a foot wrong. He is a sweet and loving boy who loves spending time with people, whether that is going for a nice in hand walk or receiving a good groom and pamper session, this is definitely his favourite time of day. Calypso is a real people lover and is always excited to see his favourite person.

Calypso is showing great promise under the saddle. He has recently started his ridden career and is taking to it like a duck to water. Calypso really enjoys his work, whether that is on the ground or under the saddle. He forms a strong bond with his handler and tries his heart out for them. When he becomes a little worried, he looks to his handler/rider for reassurance and he soon settles.

Calypso has popped some jumps on the lunge and has shown enthusiasm and a great attitude to this. We believe that with some more work, he will blossom into a lovely second pony for a competent child who wants to have a fun time. He is proven to be sensible and safe in traffic so far, although currently he has only seen traffic in hand.

Calypso’s Perfect Partner would be someone with plenty of time and experience to continue his education. He is still green and would benefit from a patient and understanding handler who can create a bond with him and help settle his worries. He will make a very exciting project for someone and will give his all to someone who is willing to put the same time and passion into him that he will give back.
