Say hello to Thatcher
Thatcher is looking for a home as a Companion with Potential!
*Thatcher is not located at our Bransby Horses site*
Thatcher is a striking young girl who is ready to find a home who will allow her to continue to mature until she is old enough, where she could potentially look to start her career as a ridden/ lead rein pony. She is an exceptionally sweet pony who is always keen to learn. She can be a little unsure with being caught, so will need someone who understands the reasons for this and who is willing to help her overcome this. Thatcher thrives on the confidence shown by her handlers and is very friendly with everyone she meets. She has a laid back temperament and has lived with some foals, proving to be a very good influence on them. Thatcher has historically pulled back when she feels pressure while tied up. She is improving with this all the time however and stands well once re-tied.
Description – Thatcher is a 3 year old, 12hh, chestnut, Welsh mare.
Stabling/Shelter – Thatcher lives out 24/7 with access to a field shelter. She will happily stable with others in sight.
Companionship – Thatcher has lived with some foals, proving to be a very sensible influence on them. She can live with both mares and geldings and is a sweet natured girl.
Forage/Feed – No hard feed given and monitored grazing whilst she is still growing to ensure she remains a healthy weight. She is given low-calorie hay when grazing is too sparse.
Rugs – Not needed.
Medication – N/A
Feet – Barefoot and trimmed 6-8 weekly. She is good for the farrier.
Dentist – Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vet – Thatcher had a high worm burden on arrival at Bransby Horses. Due to this and her age, we recommend ensuring she is treated with Moxidectin in winter. She has no ongoing medical concerns.
