Say hello to Revenant
Revenant is looking for a home as a project pony.
*Revenant is not located at our Bransby Horses site.*
Revenant (affectionally known as Rev), is a nervous young man who, through no fault of his own, lacks trust and needs a very experienced and understanding perfect partner to help him reach his full potential. He thrives in a routine and is a very rewarding boy to work with, relishing the opportunity to keep his mind busy and show off his intelligence.
He benefits from regular handling to help build his trust and confidence. He has started the very early stages of being backed, having had tack on and some basic groundwork (lunging in walk and trot, being led and long-lined down the road) however will need gradual bringing on before he can be fully backed and ridden.
Rev can be nervous about being caught and whilst he has shown confidence in most traffic, he is worried about bikes and motorbikes.
While waiting for his Perfect Partner, Rev will continue with his training.
Description – Revenant is a 6-year-old, 11hh, chestnut, Dartmoor gelding.
Stabling/Shelter – Revenant lives out 24/7 with access to a shelter. He will happily stable with others in sight.
Companionship – Revenant has lived with geldings and has shown stallion behaviours around mares. He is a playful boy with other geldings.
Vices – Revenant is very worried in new and unfamiliar situations so will need a confident, patient and experienced handler to help him overcome his worries.
Education – Revenant has had some education; being introduced to tack, lunged and long-lined in the arena, as well as led and long-lined down the road. He can be nervous around bikes and motorbikes.
Forage/Feed – No hard feed is given, and he is on restricted grazing to appropriately manage his weight.
Rugs – Not needed.
Feet – Barefoot and trimmed 6-8 weekly. He can be worried about the farrier so will need a patient and understanding farrier.
Dentist – Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vet- Revenant has no ongoing health concerns.
