Description – Owen is a 9 year old, grey, 14.1hh, cob type gelding.
History – Owen was one of a large group of equines rescued off the Welsh mountains, he was unhandled and entire on arrival.
Behaviour & Handling – Owen is a laid back boy when he is with his friends but can become quite upset if they are out of sight.
Perfect Match – We believe Owen would suit an active home, he enjoys going for walks and would thrive with someone who will be understanding of his attachment issues and be willing to work through them or around them. A home where he can be a constant companion to a friend with similar management needs to himself.
Stabling/Shelter – Currently lives out all year with shelter. Happy being stabled with his friends nearby.
Companionship – Can live with mares or geldings.
Forage/Feed – Will need restricted grazing to manage weight.
Rug – Possible rain sheet in winter, but none needed otherwise.
Ailments – Can develop minor thrush around frog.
Medication – None.
Vices – Can become distressed when he can’t see his friends.
Feet – Currently unshod. Good with Farrier. Keep an eye on frog for signs of thrush.
Dentist – Good.
