Say hello to Guinevere

Guinevere is now looking for a home as a non-ridden companion.

The extremely beautiful Guinevere- or ‘Guin’ as she’s affectionately known across the yard- is looking for a special person who has experience and knowledge in order to help this sweet girl continue to build her confidence. She will need someone with time, patience and endless love in order to help her flourish and experience the joy a one-to-one home can bring. We are looking for a quiet, adult only home who can implement a solid routine from day one for Guinevere as sudden movements and loud noises can be extremely worrisome for her.

Guinevere is a very rewarding horse to work with, as once she trusts you she will do her best to please; trotting over to you in the field when called and producing the sweetest noiseless wickers in greeting. That said, on occasion her worries can get the best of her so she will need someone who can understand this and learn to read her subtle communications when something is becoming too much.

More information:

Description – Guinevere is an 8 year old, 15hh, black, cob X, mare.

Stabling/Shelter – She lives out 24/7 with access to a field shelter. She can stable with food distractions, but this is not something she is overly keen on.

Companionship – Guinevere is a very dominant lady in the herd, and will need a companion who doesn’t mind being second in command as Guinevere knows her mind and how things need to be.

Forage/Feed – Average grazing and forage supplied when grazing becomes too sparse,

Medication – None

Vices- Guinevere can become unsettled and worried around quick movements and loud noises

Feet – Barefoot and trimmed 6 weekly. Guinevere struggles with her confidence around men so will need a patient and understanding farrier. A tasty treat will help her come around to the idea of someone new.

Dentist – Sedated as part of Bransby Horses procedure.

Vet – Nervous, will need patience and reassurance from the vet and handler.
