Say hello to Apricot

Apricot is looking for a home as a lead rein pony.

*Apricot is not located at our Bransby Horses site*

Having recently returned from a loving home with her best friend Aztec (also available), Apricot is looking for a new home where she can be loved as a lead-rein pony to a small child.  Apricot has recently been backed and has had a rider on board, out on small gentle hacks, taking it all in her very tiny stride. Apricot has potential to do well at showing and the gentle exercise of being a lead rein pony will help keep her weight in check.
Apricot adores human attention and will seek out any opportunity for a cuddle and a fuss… and we are yet to meet anyone able to refuse! She is easy to handle in all ways, but can be a little nervous in new and unfamiliar situations. That said, she always gives 110% of anything asked, and soon grows in confidence!

If you have space in your heart and home, Apricot is available with her friend Aztec, or separately.

More information:

Description – Apricot is a 9 year old, 8.1hh, lemon and white, Shetland mare.

Stabling/Shelter – Apricot lives out 24/7 with access to a shelter and will happily stable.

Forage/Feed –   No hard feed given and restricted grazing. During winter, if grazing becomes too sparse, she is supplemented with low-calorie hay. Due to her breed, Apricot will need appropriate weight management.

Feet – Barefoot and trimmed 6-8weekly. She is good for the farrier.

Companionship –  Apricot was living in a home with Aztec and enjoys the playful companionship of her friends.

Dentist – Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.

Rugs – Not needed.

Vet – No ongoing health concerns.

Education: Apricot has been backed as a lead rein pony only and has the basics of walking on the lead rein with a rider on board. She is happy and confident out on hacks and has not been phased by traffic.
