Visit Us

Bransby Horses is an equine rescue and welfare charity based just a few miles north of Lincoln. We have been rescuing, rehabilitating, rehoming and providing sanctuary care for equines in need since 1968 when our founder, Peter Hunt, arrived from London with his rescued mare, Sally. He purchased a modest amount of land here in Bransby village and his vision grew in to the charity we are today. We are proud to be able to share this with you and invite you to meet many of our equine residents from horses and ponies to donkeys and mules.

We welcome thousands of visitors each year who enjoy meeting our four-legged residents and exploring miles of picturesque walkways. Bransby Horses is perfect for a family day out, picnic venue, meeting place and eatery, serving breakfast, lunch and light refreshments. Whilst we do not charge an entry fee, we appreciate donations to support our vital welfare work.

What a fabulous place. We were thrilled to see so many ponies-we particularly love miniature Shetlands so any opportunity to see them and get close is much appreciated. The whole place is extremely professionally run and the equines are in great condition and happy. Staff glad to stop and chat if you’d like but they are going about their business prioritising the ponies which is exactly as it should be.

Easily the best breakfast in the Lincoln area followed by a walk around the well looked after horses and donkeys. Not forgetting the play park for the children. A grand morning out !

Absolutely amazing place the staff were lovely and helpful. My 2 year old little boy loves horses and they were so friendly he loved petting them and giving them a lovely stroke. The horses and donkeys are lovely the cafe is an amazing price the food was lovely and the cups of tea were spot on. Will definitely be coming back.

These are the best scones around. We are out most days around Worksop, Retford, Gainsborough and this is the best for scones. Really excellent. Everything else very good with really friendly staff. Great for a walk to see the donkeys and horses too.

We loved meeting some of the donkeys and horses here. The centre appears well-organized, and it was comforting to see rescued equines living contentedly. The gift shop and cafe are well worth visiting too.
