Marlene (named after one of our late-loyal supporters) came to Bransby Horses in-foal and with her five-month-old daughter Janice in December 2014, after they were removed from a field in an emaciated condition. Her poor state meant she was struggling to nurse, sustain her unborn foal, and keep herself alive.

Marlene’s early years at Bransby Horses kept her busy, but she’s had plenty of time to recover, settle down with her new herd and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. She especially loves being with Gnasha, and the two mums have formed a strong bond since their arrival, even though their personalities are quite different.
