Bransby Horses Win Bursary Award for Legacy Training

18th May 2023

Bransby Horses are honoured to have won the 2023 Legacy Futures Bursary Awards, which celebrate new and emerging talent in the sector.

Legacy Futures received a record number of applications for the award and were very grateful to their independent panel of judges who narrowed these down to six worthy winners.

As one of those winners, we have been awarded the 2023 Legacy Futures Crispin Ellison Bursary Award.

The award will meet the costs of training for our Legacy Officer Laura Simpson-Toyn to gain her Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA).

This means we receive a training package from the Institute of Legacy Management worth £1000.

A spokeswoman for Legacy Futures said: “The judges were very impressed with Bransby Horses’ application and were unanimous in their agreement they were worthy and deserving winners.”

Bransby Horses Assistant Legacy Officer Laura Simpson-Toyn, said: “Thank you to Legacy futures and the judges for awarding me the Crispin Ellison Bursary. I am very grateful and looking forward to studying towards the ILM’s Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration.

“Bransby Horses rely solely on support from the general public to continue our rescue, rehabilitation and influencing equine welfare work and the majority of our income comes from the legacies created by our kind supporters.”

As well as Bransby Horses, awards went to Will Power, the Canadian legacy giving campaign, Blind Veterans UK, Blood Cancer UK, The Queen’s College, Oxford University and Marie Curie.
