We are over the moon to have scooped a second major tourism award this week.
Our equine welfare charity beat off tough competition to be crowned Best Small Visitor Attraction in Lincolnshire, 2023, by the Destination Tourism Excellence Awards judges.
We open our doors to the public to raise awareness of equine suffering and to attract funds, so rubbing shoulders with businesses, organisations, and individuals at a glittering award ceremony was a huge honour in itself.
Visitor and Commercial Operations Managers Holly Hart said: “We went to the ceremony as finalists never thinking for a minute we would win an award. It really does mean so much to us and we are thrilled to have won. These awards recognise the hard work and dedication our team has shown over the year and we couldn’t be more proud.
“The team works hard to deliver a memorable experience for our visitors and this accolade is a testament to their dedication. The primary purpose of the visitor center at Bransby Horses is to offer a platform for the public to learn about the work we do for the welfare of equines, our core purpose, so to win this award against some well know tourist attractions is an absolute honour. Thank you to all of our supporters, who continue to donate and visit us.”
Winners were decided in line with the VisitEngland judges criteria spanning tourism, hospitality, attractions, accommodation and leisure sectors from across Greater Lincolnshire, with 69 shortlisted.
Charlotte Coy, CEO of Destination Lincolnshire said: “Last night’s awards absolutely celebrated every aspect of the visitor economy that we are lucky enough to have here in our thriving county.
“Not only was this a priceless opportunity for these 14 businesses to fly the flag and champion Lincolnshire with their award win, but for 12 of our winners – and five of our Destination Lincolnshire Partners – this celebration also heralds the chance to achieve national recognition among industry peers.”
We are one of the UK’s leading equine welfare charities opening our doors to the public for free Wednesday-Sunday 10am to 4pm.
A welcoming café, children’s play park, gift and donated goods shop and miles of pushchair and wheelchair friendly walkways has made Bransby Horses a popular visitor attraction.
As a charity Bransby Horses has been rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming equines for over 50 years and relies entirely on donations from the public.
The Destination Lincolnshire Awards celebrate the dedication of organisations to providing unparalleled experiences to both local and international visitors and the reflects the diversity and excellence that Lincolnshire has to offer.
Dates for the national timeline remain undisclosed, but judging will commence once all UK regional award competitions have announced their winners in Spring 2024.
