One of our main objectives is promoting knowledge of equine care and welfare so you can help support us to identify when a horse, pony, or donkey is suffering or in pain.
We use the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) Code of Practice for the welfare of equines as a guide of how to look after and care for equines. When their care has fallen below the basic guidance and they are not having their basic needs met they could be a potential welfare concern.
