Eros, Casanova, Rouge, Valentino, and Cupid arrive at the charity after being abandoned in a farmer's field. They are aptly dubbed the Valentine's Group. Sadly, Eros and Casanova were later put to sleep due to complex medical issues. The remaining three recovered and have been doing very well.
Bransby Horses joins forces with Nottinghamshire Police to improve the welfare and safety of loose horses across the county. The headcollars, donated by Cobbs Country Store, feature QR codes that, when scanned, provide officers with essential guidance on approaching, catching, and leading equines, along with contact information for Bransby Horses and other relevant charities.
Tonks is born into our care at Oakham Veterinary Hospital, weighing just seven kilos. Her mum and brother had been rescued a mere two days prior.
She was born via a red bag delivery. Without the immediate veterinary assistance of the team at Oakham, both mare and foal wouldn’t have made it.
Puffin, rescued back in 2023 with his mum Snowbunting, finds his Perfect Partner through our rehoming scheme. He leaves site and starts a new journey away from the charity.
Members of our Welfare Team attended the annual Appleby Horse Fair, alongside a number of other animal charities. Their aim is to monitor equine care and welfare.
Popular and well-known donkey duo, Mario & Luigi, are rehomed and travel to pastures new. The pair were rescued back in 2023 and became firm favourites with staff members and supporters alike.
Sponsorship Star Nipper, one of the most famous residents at Bransby Horses, celebrates his 10th birthday. He was born at the charity back in 2015.
Bransby Life is delivered to over 80,000 supporters. The issue features stories on our recent rescues, and introduces Pika as the new Sponsorship Star.
The Welfare Team collaborated with various other equine charities as part of an ongoing project to improve the lives of herds at the Gelligaer and Merthyr common in Wales. Five equines were taken in by Bransby Horses, Boo, Binxs, Buffy, Blair and Bonnie.
The Rehoming Team reaches their target of 50 equines rehomed from the Bransby Horses site. Some of those who found their new home includes well-known equines such as Dove, River, Puffin, and donkey duo Mario & Luigi.
Bransby Horses celebrates Christmas in style by serving over 250 festive dinners to supporters who booked into our café for a seasonal feast. It was a record-breaking year for Christmas dinners, with every penny raised going directly towards caring for the equines who call Bransby Horses home.
