Make The Most Of Half Term With Bransby Horses

28th May 2024

It’s half term and Bransby Horses are gearing-up to welcome visitors, new and returning.

As one of the UK’s largest equine welfare charities, we offer a great day out with miles of wheelchair friendly tracks to explore, a cafe, gift shop, play park and second-hand goods shop.

New for 2024, we are excited to be able to offer our new free welfare trail as part of the visitor experience.

Adults and children can join in and learn all about how Bransby Horses rescues and rehabilitates equines.

Our junior supporters can become ‘Pony Pioneers’ by answering the questions on their quiz sheet and earning their special Pony Pioneer sticker.

Senior Press Officer Maria Thompson said: “We have thousands of visitors every year, a lot of whom enjoy being outside and meeting our rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules (equines). We’ve launched this trail, which takes you around the fields where our horses are, to help raise awareness of equine welfare.

“Most people know about the needs of dogs and cats but equines are less understood. We hope the trail will help to engage people with our cause.”

We also have a welfare talk taking place this Friday (May 31) to attend visitors meet in the Visitor Centre Courtyard for 11am.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead, and we are wheelchair and pushchair accessible.
