Thinking of things to do while you are safely at home?
We’d love you to do some fun activities and donate even a small amount to us. Like everyone, this is such a difficult time for us and we rely entirely on donations from our amazing supporters like you.
So, here are a few ideas:
Take on the Stair Challenge:
This is one for the whole family and so easy to get involved keeping fit at the same time.
Just set up your JustGiving page and post to your social media page or send messages to friends.
Set yourself a challenge and then take pictures to update your family and friends as you undertake your challenge. Don’t forget to send them to us too.
Your challenge could be undertaken in 4, 8 or 12 weeks, you decide.
Now, do you want to climb a virtual mountain or a virtual building?
Millennium Dome: 320 steps, 21 flights of stairs
Big Ben: 620 steps, 42 flights of stairs
Blackpool Tower: 1,036 steps, 69 flights of stairs
Canary Wharf Tower: 1,600 steps, 107 flights of stairs
Maybe you’re a super stroller and fancy completing the virtual 3 peaks challenge…
Scafell Pike: 6,180 steps, 412 flights of stairs
Mount Snowden: 7,120, 475 flights of stairs
Ben Nevis: 8,810, 587 lights of stairs
Donate your daily commute:
If you are now saving money on your daily commute to work – or perhaps, if you are a season ticket holder and have secured a refund – why not donate some to help us continue caring for the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules here?
Whatever you’re saving money on:
We all know that the hairdressers and groomers are going to be rushed off their feet in a few months time, but while you are saving that money and owning the ‘longer, more natural’ look, why not donate to us? We can confirm that all horses, ponies, donkeys and mules’ manes and tails will remain ‘salon fresh’ throughout the lockdown thanks to you.
Saving on your coffees? Childcare? Cinema trips or eating out?
But if you are squirreling away your well earned cash during this difficult time, there are other ways you can help:
Keeping your stamps and sending them to us
Knitting us some purple poppies. We can send you the knitting pattern
Shop through Amazon Smile and choose us as your charity
Purchase an item from our Amazon wishlist
Ideas for children
Why not do some chores around the house and donate your pocket money?
Do a run or cycle round your daily exercise route and ask friends and family to sponsor you through JustGiving
