Laouen, owned by Ashley Bank Investments & Dr K Fraser, ran a total of eleven times and earnt over £42,000! Trained by L Lungo, in just a short time, Laouen proved to be a star alongside jockey’s Brian Harding, Tony Dobbin and W Dowling.
After arriving at Bransby Horses in November 2013, as he was not able to be rehomed by HERO’s (Homing Ex-Racehorses Organisation Scheme), Laouen is now enjoying his life at Walklands Farm at our Lincolnshire site and is the black beauty of the herd and definitely stands out with his shiny black coat. A handsome boy, Laouen often appears on morning checks with wounds, the team have concluded that he is a member of fight club; his antics still remain a mystery to the staff!
Percy’s Pearl (Percy)
Percy, owned by Mrs Anne Coughlan ran five times and earnt £5,430. Percy’s Pearl was trained by David Elsworth and jockey’s Antony Procter and J F Egan.
Percy arrived at the charity in March 2009 in a very poor condition; he was emaciated and had a body condition score of just one out of five. Percy now spends his days being pampered and has his very own fan club within the Bransby Horses staff! Over the winter months, Percy is stabled as he requires special care, the team wait on him hand and foot!
Extra Cover (Eric)
Eric, previously owned by KB Cordner and trained by Miss V Scott was an excellent racehorse and was ridden by a total of nineteen jockeys in a total of thirty-six runs; including Frankie Dettori, Richard Hughes and Sam Stronge. Eric earnt an amazing £16,501 during his time on the track.
Following his time racing, Eric arrived at Bransby Horses in June 2015 with five other horses due to a change in his owner’s circumstances; he is adored by staff and is enjoying his time trying to re-enact his jumping, resulting in a spell of box rest! Loved by staff, Eric loves being the centre of attention and loves being number one.
Quartano, trained by Warren Greatrex and once owned by Malcolm C Denmark, earnt a total of £25,336 throughout his career after running a total of seventeen times. His jockeys include Paddy Brennan, Tom O’Brien, and Timmy Murphy.

One of two chestnut geldings in the Thoroughbred herd, Quartano stands at an impressive 16.1hh.
