Bransby Horses Appoints New Equine Welfare Manager

8th April 2021

The Bransby Horses External Welfare Team investigate welfare concerns, supporting horse owners with non-judgemental support and rescuing equines who suffer as a result of cruelty or neglect. We work to help horses, ponies, donkeys and mules alike. Following a very competitive process, Rachel Jenkinson will be heading up the external welfare department as the new External Welfare Manager at Bransby Horses.

Rachel joins her new team with over five years of experience as Farm Manager, overseeing seven equine yards across two sites in Lincolnshire. Rachel is also one of the media spokespersons for the charity.

Prior to joining Bransby Horses, Rachel worked with the City of London Police mounted section, was an equine lecturer at Oaklands Agricultural College and has over 30 years experience working throughout the equine industry sector, both in the UK and internationally in leadership, education and welfare.

Rachel said, “I am immensely proud of the work we do at Bransby Horses and all that we have achieved across the farm in my five years as Farm Manager. I feel privileged to be able to take on the external welfare role and I am looking forward to building on our excellent reputation, supporting our local equine community and raising our national profile and impact.”

Along with the equine charity sector, Bransby Horses is concerned about the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on equine welfare and continues to be there for equines in need and owners seeking help and advice throughout the pandemic.

If anyone would like to speak to us about an equine they are concerned about, please call our expert team on 01427 787 369 who are here to help without judgement.
