Winter Fun for all the Family at Bransby Horses

6th January 2023

With trails and quizzes followed by tea for two or yummy fish and chips in the cafe, Bransby Horses offers a fun day out for all the family this winter.

Entry is free and we have over 300 four-legged residents to view, as well as miles of picturesque, pushchair friendly walkways.

From now through till the end of February, visitors can take our part in our ‘Do You Know Your Donkey’s?’ quiz, with clues dotted around the site.

While finding the answers hidden along the walkways, there’s chance to get to know some of their rescued residents too.

Activities are £3.50, which includes a special prize at the end.

Maria Thompson, Bransby Horses spokesperson, said: “There’s plenty for friends and families to see and do when they arrive, including our play park which now caters for children of all ages, with a dedicated toddler area, slides, swings and climbing frames.

“While you’ll be able to see our rescued residents out in their paddocks the donkeys are now living in the barns meaning they are unfortunately not for public viewing.

“However, subject to availability on weekends we have organised escorted trips to the barns, so don’t forget to ask in case one is happening when you visit.

“The donkey herds will be back out in the fields for everyone to see in the spring.”

Why Not Make a Day of It

After all that running around you can warm-up in the Bransby Horses Café which serves breakfast, lunch and light refreshments to eat in or takeaway.

From January 11 (not including the school holidays) there are a number of special offers on.

An afternoon tea for two deal sees delicious scones, tasty sandwiches and mouth-watering cakes for £26 and on Fridays, fish and chips are just £12.50 per person.

Charity Shop

The Donated Goods and Tack Shop are also open and filled with pre-loved bargains. Bransby Horses is always happy to take donations for the shop from which every penny of profit made goes directly back to paying for the charity’s equine rescue and welfare work.

We are open Wednesday to Sunday 10am – 4pm and during school holidays it is open seven days a week, Monday to Sunday, 10am – 4pm.
