Say hello to Winnie
Winnie is now ready to find a home as a non-ridden companion.
Winnie is looking for a perfect partner who is experienced in managing EMS and can provide a home where this can be managed appropriately.
Winnie may have perfected the art of throwing out moody mare stares, but underneath it all she is a sweetheart with masses of personality who loves nothing more than a cuddle and fuss; just don’t let her know we told you.
She would benefit from someone who can provide her with a loving one to home with one or two companions at most, with similar management needs where she can be kept active both mentally and physically. Winnie thrives off a consistent routine and a gentle approach. Whilst she secretly does enjoy attention and fuss, it needs to be on her terms whilst she builds a bond with you and learns to trust you.
Description – Winnie is a 12 year old, 12.2hh, Welsh Cross, chestnut mare.
Stabling/Shelter – Winnie is in a routine to appropriately manage her EMS and weight. Similar management will need to be continued in a home.
Companionship – Winnie can live with mares and geldings but would benefit from one or two companions. She can pull faces at the other horses in the herd but rarely acts on it.
Forage/Feed – No hard feed given and restricted grazing. Winnie has EMS and is prone to laminitis so grazing conditions must be appropriate for this.
Ailments/Vices – EMS
Feet – Winnie is barefoot and trimmed 6 weekly. She is good for the farrier.
Dentist – Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vet – Winnie has EMS and a history of laminitis. As such she will need experienced and careful management to ensure her needs are met out in a home.
Clip – Winnie has only been clipped once whilst sedated. With time and patience, Winnie could possibly be clipped un-sedated.
