Description – Opal is a 12 years old, 11.1hh, Grey, Welsh type Mare.

History –  Opal arrived at Bransby Horses after being found abandoned on the Welsh Mountains.

Behaviour and Handling – Opal is a lovely, friendly and fun little pony who gets on well with her herd members. Opal can be a little head shy particularly around her ears. She has improved a lot regarding this issue though and with patience and consistent handling Opal will continue to progress. Opal will stand and be groomed although she gets a little fidgety.

Perfect Match – We believe Opal would make a great companion pony as she is respectful and gentle with other equines.

Stabling/Shelter – Can live out all year with a shelter. Happy being stabled too.

Companionship – Currently lives with mares.

Forage/Feed – Currently on grass with hay through the winter months.

Rugs – No rugs required.

Ailments – None.

Medication – None.

Vices – A little bit head shy.

Feet – Currently barefoot. Good for the farrier.

Dentist – Currently needs to be sedated.

Vets – Vet would need to be calm and patient.

Clip – Never been clipped while at Bransby Horses.
