Say hello to Foxby!
Foxby is ready to find his home as a non-ridden companion.
If you’re looking for a handsome youngster who is always the first to greet you in the field and adores a good scratch on his neck, Foxby could be the perfect addition to your family! He adores attention and fuss, though due to his young age, Foxby would benefit from a perfect partner who has experience with youngsters so can help him continue on his journey to becoming a well rounded companion. Foxby would would benefit from being able to live out as much as possible as he has some worries around stabling. This is due to a negative association to stables and veterinary treatments which, with time, patience and gentle reassurance he is overcoming. He has historically had ulcers which, whilst resolved, would need an experienced person to provide him with appropriate management and be able to spot the signs of these reoccurring.
Foxby is a playful young man within the herd and loves the opportunity to play with his field mates. He has bags of love to give to his handlers and always tried his hardest to please.
History – Foxby arrived at Bransby Horses as a foal at foot due to welfare needs not being met. His dam had several wounds and masses which, despite receiving around the clock care from us, worsened and she sadly passed away leaving poor Foxby on his own. Having overcome that, he is now hoping that someone has space in their heart and home for an orphan who has truly blossomed into a wonderful young man.
Description – Foxby is a 5 year old, 13.2hh, piebald, cob gelding.
Stabling/Shelter – He lives out 24/7 with access to a shelter. Whilst never nasty, he can become worried with being stabled so would need time and patience to be able to comfortably achieve this again. He is happier with a food distraction at present.
Companionship – Foxby lives in a herd of geldings at present and sits in the middle of the hierarchy. He is playful within the herd and would benefit from a companion who likes to engage in play.
Forage/Feed – Foxby is not on any hard feed at present and needs careful management to ensure his weight is managed appropriately whilst also ensuring he has a constant supply of grass or forage to reduce the risk of his ulcers returning.

Vices – Due to having a number of veterinary interventions during his time at Bransby Horses, Foxby can be a little wary of the vet; especially needles. He is generally good with a food distraction but would need a patient and understanding vet in his new home.

Dentist – Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
